Bee Walk with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust

  • Marden Meadows Marden Tonbridge, England, TN12 0JH United Kingdom (map)

Our much-loved bumblebees are having a worryingly hard time in the British countryside. Seeking to address this, the Bumblebee Conservation Trust was set up to try to inspire everyone to help our precious bumblebees thrive.

The Trust has a project – the Bee Connected project - in South Kent/East Sussex. As part of this project, Jessica Holdway, who works on the project and lives just outside Marden, has offered us a guided bee walk on Marden Meadow.  Armed with pots and nets, we will see how many different bumblebees we can find and Jessica will share her expertise in identifying them.

The walk will take place in the afternoon on 20 August.

Because of the limited parking at Marden Meadow, we will meet in the library car park at 2:30 and drive there in as few cars as possible. There is a small charge to park at Marden Meadow, which has to be paid by Ringo App, which can perhaps be shared by those travelling in each car.

There is no charge for the walk but donations towards the valuable work of the Trust will be welcome. Jessica will be able to accept donations by cash or card on the day.

Places are strictly limited, so if you would like to join the walk please contact Sue Pennicott by email suemhscommittee@gmail.com or on 07762 059412.
