Easy greenhouse insulation

This is how we insulate the end of our greenhouse, with just bubblewrap and water. The water really makes it stick on the side windows and some of the bubble wrap has been up for 3 years. Here is Ella, showing how it is done.

First cut the bubble wrap to the size of a pane of glass, then thoroughly wet the pane all over and into the corners.

Now, press the flattest side of the bubblewrap firmly on to the glass making sure the whole sheet is in contact. The roof is left uncovered, as we don’t want to heat the roof ( although Jill tells me that gravity takes over and it falls off anyway!)

Finally, we make a ceiling with a sheet of bubblewrap, a bamboo cane and some bulldog clips, then drape another sheet of bubblewrap over the front to enclose the back of greenhouse where the heater is. Now the greenhouse is ready for anything the winter throws at us.
